Education

Over many decades now things have had a bad twist in both child and adult education. In schools the main problem has been that things are being taught without proper experience of the matter – it then stays dead and uninteresting. The lack of real experience has intensified to the point that now computers are distributed not only in primary schools, but even in kindergartens. Instead of real experiences with the senses we give children tools to access a virtual world. Tools which have been proven to be highly addictive even for adults. In adult education, we similarly believe it is enough to teach students the subject matter without ethics. No wonder we now often have judges and lawyers without morals and doctors who are only in it for the money. Instead of corrupting the souls of both children and adults we need to teach the good, the beautiful and the true.

After almost 100 years of Waldorf Education we by now have enough proof that this kind of pedagogy produces highly responsible, engaged and morally integrated adults. We have been able to implement the principles of Waldorf and Anthroposophy in a wide field of state schools, free schools, trainings and workshops in the Philippines and beyond. In the Philippines the works have so far, more concretely, been:

  • team trainings and pedagogical trainings in state schools, Catholic schools and Waldorf schools.
  • workshops, trainings and tours for a wide variety of groups.
  • emergency pedagogy especially after taifun Haiyan.
  • construction of sensory playgrounds and sensory school gardens.
